What is Dual Core ?
Unlike Hyper Threading, if which computer tasks are split are up but done by the same Cpu, in a Dual Core processor there are actually two chips that work independent of each other to complete their assigned indivdual tasks. Unlike hyper-threading these two chips do not share any transistors or cache and effectively can be seen as two distinct processors. There is also something called Dual Core Hyper Threading in which both the chips work with each other to complete a single task.
